Sacristan Duties

A good sacristan is a true gift to any Church because they fulfill a true liturgical function. The Sacristan ensures that the things necessary for worship are always available, and carefully arranges the liturgical books making all the divisions. He or she also lays out the vestments, and other things necessary in the celebration of Mass such as cruets, chalices, ciboria, linens, oils, processional crosses, candles and torches. The Sacristan under the general direction of the Clergy undertakes the overall preparation of liturgical celebrations, including all that is needed for all masses including daily and weekend masses as well as Holy Days and other masses outside the normal schedule.

If you would like to become an usher for any of our nine weekend masses, please contact us.

Usher Duties

Ushers assist with seating, the communion procession, distributing bulletins, maintaining decorum and the handling of any questions and any emergency that might arise at a liturgical function.

Who We Are

They also assist with food, clothing, transportation, employment, immigration, respite and substance abuse for people in need. The interaction with many social agencies provides direction and referrals in strict confidence.

Who We Are

This committee prepares the total environment within the church for liturgical celebrations. We prepare the church with decorations, banners, floral arrangements, palms and Christmas trees, and lighting for all celebrations, holidays and holy days of obligation. We also keep track of the inventory of items in the Sacristy and order the necessary items for all liturgical celebrations.
